Monday 16th January - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – some sun in
the middle of the day and cold.
Walk 1 – sunrise at the Ferry.
I headed down to Felixstowe Ferry around 7.30 for sunrise hoping there
would be some mist over the Deben but sadly there was none being mainly
cloudy with just a clear strip on the horizon, got a few pics by the
Martello tower as the red sun came into view briefly, nothing special
really. I then parked by the jetty to take a few pics of my favourite
fishing boats with the tide low and some OK reflections to send to the TV
weather but no luck today!
Walk 2 – Landguard circuit and picnic.
Home to sort my pics, breakfast and exercises, we had a message from mate
Neil saying he was fishing at the end of the prom at The Manor so I packed
a picnic and we drove down for a chat. The sun was out and the sky was blue
when we arrived at 1.40 and had a nise chat with Neil, heis son Lee and son
in law Kevin who were catching small dabs (flatfish) The sun then
disappeared never to return and the temperature really dropped so we said
our goodbyes and parked up near Landguard for our walk around the Nature
Reserve for a picnic by the old pier watching a couple of ships come in!
When we got back to the sea wall we spotted a seal close to the shore and
he popped up several times to keep an eye on us, always nice to see:) Then
a quick spin round Lidl and home for a cuppa and cake!
